Axel AI is a one-person studio in Brisbane. We are not currently hiring full-time staff, and we don't plan to grow into an agency. The whole point of the operation is that the person who talks to you is the person who builds the thing.
What we are open to
- Senior contractors with deep experience in a specific stack (Temporal, Modal, fine-tuning, complex Postgres, production AI eval) for short, scoped pieces of work that we cannot ourselves cover well.
- Referrals for clients we cannot take on. If you know a great operator who needs help and we are full, we are happy to refer.
- Co-builds with adjacent specialists (designers, ML researchers, integration engineers) where the project clearly benefits from more than one set of hands.
What we are not looking for
- Junior or generalist roles — there isn't a layer for those here.
- Long-term subcontracting that would require us to act like an agency.
- Sales, BD, marketing, or growth-hacking partnerships.
